Native American fashion brand HOSH teams with George Alexander

As part of its ongoing series of collaborations with Indigenous artists and makers, HOSH presents a new collaboration with Muscogee-Creek painter George Alexander, known professionally as Ofuskie, bringing the Santa Fe-based artist’s distinctive visual language into the world of HOSH. Rooted in the brand’s approach to creating wearable art through direct collaboration, the partnership centers on Alexander’s work and the ideas and stories behind it.

Raised in the rural town of Mason, Oklahoma, Alexander is the son of a Baptist preacher and Sunday School teacher and first turned to art as a means of navigating difficult periods in his life. Encouraged by his family to pursue his practice, he attended the Institute of American Indian Arts, earning his BFA in 2015, before completing an MFA at Studio Art College International in Florence in 2019.

Alexander’s paintings return to a recurring visual vocabulary of human figures, animals, and Indigenous cultural imagery. Through these motifs, he explores questions of belief, self-knowledge, identity, and shared humanity, approaching art as an ongoing conversation capable of extending beyond the life of the object and carrying forward into future generations.

The HOSH x Ofuskie collaboration brings the artist’s distinctive visual language to HOSH through a single T-shirt featuring artwork across both the front and back. The partnership continues HOSH’s ongoing work with Indigenous artists, creating a new context for Alexander’s imagery while keeping the artist and his practice at the center of the collaboration.

The collection reflects a shared belief in art as something that can move between mediums and audiences without losing its connection to the person and ideas behind it. In translating Alexander’s work from canvas to clothing, the collaboration offers another way for his imagery and the conversations embedded within it to live beyond its original form.

Alexander’s work has been shown at the National Gallery of Art, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and the Zimmerli Art Museum, and is held in the TIA Collection, the John Horseman Collection, and the La Fonda Hotel Collection. He is a 2024 Walker Youngbird Foundation fellow, a First Peoples Fund Artist in Business Leadership fellow, and a Native American 40 Under 40 honoree.

The HOSH x Ofuskie T-shirt launches November 19, 2026, and will be available at hosh.com.
