Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz to attend ‘Giants’ opening September 20 in Indy

“Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” will be on view at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields from September 19, 2026, through February 28, 2027.
Organized by the Brooklyn Museum, the exhibition brings together monumental contemporary art and historic masterworks from the personal collection of musical and cultural icons Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys. Through powerful conversations across generations, the exhibition explores Black identity, creativity, power and care while celebrating artists, communities and cultural legacies that have shaped art and culture.
“Bringing ‘Giants’ to Indianapolis reflects Newfields’ commitment to presenting the most compelling artists and cultural voices of our time,” said Le Monte G. Booker, Sr., President & CEO for Newfields. “We are advancing a bold, new chapter for the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields that deepens our engagement with contemporary art. We are focused on presenting work that sparks dialogue, broadens perspectives and reflects the richness of our communities. ‘Giants’ embodies that vision. More than a celebration of artistic excellence, this exhibition offers audiences an opportunity to experience the transformative power of art on a truly extraordinary scale.”
In keeping with the show’s title, a number of large-scale works by artists like Derrick Adams, Arthur Jafa, Titus Kaphar, Meleko Mokgosi, Amy Sherald, and Nina Chanel Abney are found throughout the exhibition which speak through their “giant presence” and thought-provoking content.
Since its debut, ‘Giants’ has traveled to leading museums across the United States, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, High Museum of Art, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and most recently at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. This dynamic exhibition has evolved with each iteration; Newfields will host the largest ‘Giants’ exhibition at 22,000 square feet with the most artworks to date.
